I have returned with a poem

I am sorry for abandoning my blog for more than a month, it is because I have been very busy finishing projects and deadlines for my course, BS-Civil Engineering. So now I blog again! Before the new semester starts that is. Now I am going to post a poem again but this time in my native language "Filipino", I want to enhance my vocabulary so that not only do I stretch my brain and dictionary looking for words but I want to tell people about how colorful the language is. I will post an English translation as well Ang Makatang Maliit Sa isang silid siya'y nag-iisip Bigo, masaya, malungkot Halu-halong mga damdamin. "Ako ay gagawa ng tula!" sabi niya Para kanino ba itong tula? "itutuloy...." The Small Poet From a corner the poet thinks Frustrated, happy, sad Mixed emotions. "I will make a poem!" he said For whom is this poem for? "to be continued...." And with that I leave it to you fellow readers, it w

The Beautiful Bird and The Worm

Once upon a time under a big oak tree there was a worm at the foot of it. A beautiful bird with colorful feathers was perched upon the branches of the oak tree and spotted the worm. "My, my! What a juicy worm you are!" said the bird. The worm was terrified but thought of an idea and said to the bird "Oh no beautiful bird do not eat me you are not worthy to eat an ugly thing like me, better yet you should give me some of your beautiful feathers so I may perch beside you as well and be beautiful like you." The bird thought of this as a good idea and gave the worm some of its feathers. The worm became beautiful like the bird and flew to a much higher branch. The worm then insulted the bird saying that he is now better than the bird and was ungrateful to the bird. The bird then became angry and destroyed the worm's feathers. The worm then fell to the ground and the bird said "I will not eat you anymore not because you are ugly but because you did not remember w

How Life Is

The other day my father noticed a coin on the floor and said "There's a coin here but wait there's another one stuck to it." And I said to him "That's how life is." And he agreed and added, "Thats how life is, the moment you see it, you thought that's just it but there's something underneath." Isn't life like that? When there are insurmountable problems and you thought it was the end, it wasn't. When there were good things and blessings pouring you thought that was just it, there was more. We may even say there were problems and there was another problem attached to it. But let's look at life positively. Life is universal but diverse. Yes there are problems, but there are also solutions. If there are problems, solve it. Just like in math. You have a hard equation in front of you, you can't just solve it instantly, it takes time. You have to know what kind of problem it is, find out how to solve it, next is how to execu

In a Hundred Years His Chosen Ones, He did not fail

Truly we can see that in a hundred years God's love and mercy is clear To His true children in these last days He never fails His Chosen ones. From His sending of a revenues bird A man He sent to preach  The true words of His in the Bible. From one man to millions In only a span of a hundred years Has reached different countries and territories Truly this is no work of man  But the work of the hand of the Almighty Father. But as the Day draws near We are not certain when that day is So we should all prepare  And strive for the perfection of our faith. We His chosen ones must not fail Him We His chosen ones must remain in His Church. Ever true, ever strong  Until the end, whichever end that is. Praises to Our Almighty God for He is true!

An Eternity of the Storm

The storm seemed like an eternity It was a strong force that seemed unstoppable. The wind sent whispers in every corner Warning everyone to stay inside. The doors were difficult to open Because the wind was all around One large door was open  And everyone could see the storm Whenever the wind went inside It made the glass of the chandelier chime. Many ventured out just to get home Some didn't get back while some had a cold. This storm that seemed like an eternity  Was only a brief visit But left a mark of its path Trees, roofs, fences and more Upside down, turned to the side and uprooted. These are only some of its marks But what really made a scar Was the loss of loved ones Who never made it back to their home In fact no home there was anymore.

What to do when the job becomes mundane.

There always comes a point in our lives where we ask ourselves if this is really our field, our patch of green grass. Because in that time and moment of asking we see ourselves in a desolate land and the only inhabitant is you. At work, at your job we have our co-workers, our colleagues and the people above us; our bosses, unit managers and such. And after 7 years of working in the same company you seem tired and bored because you do the same old thing, job, task at work. You get annoyed by your officemates, the newbies, everyone in the office. Seeing them happy makes you wonder why they still stay in the company. And even when there are times you don't get along with them well, you find you're only a one man army while there are dozens of them. But is it 'them' who is your problem or is it 'you' as an individual who thinks of them as a problem. When you think of your job as a routine, then you've lost the real sense of why you applied there in the first p

Things we Have

Problems, woes and pain Are part of this life of ours It makes our lives colorful In a way our existence Is never dull as gray But vibrant with hues To match the climax Of the highs and lows of life. Life is a beautiful flower In which Our Almighty God created And He never makes mistakes Whatever happens in our lives Is His will which we cannot question But accept and be glad because Everything happens for a reason. Problems, woes and pain Make us stronger not weaker, Makes us better not bitter Being positive about life Gives you a sense of happiness An emotion you thought is far But was right with you all along. Appreciate what you have in your life Your breathing, your strength Because you never know when You will breathe your last

How to do a Staycation

When someone asks you what you're going to do for the weekend and you say 'Oh I'm just staying at home.' They might think you have a boring life so they ask you on and on to join them on their weekend trip or get-together. But little do they know about what happens in the solitude of your home. Here are a few suggestions on how to do a Staycation: 1. Be productive as much as possible - even though you're at home try to be productive. In what way? It doesn't have to be work related, it's more on trying to improve yourself. Try a new hobby, learn something new, do something you've never done before, learn a language. Things like that may seem small but in a larger scale helps you a lot in different aspects. 2. Help out the people at home - now you might think these are chores and such. No. Helping them could be teaching them what to do with their assignments, papers and whatnot. And have a positive approach about it. And do not ask for anything in
